Our story
Everyday Mandarin began in 2012 with one after-school class of three students at Tobias Elementary in Daly City. Families kept coming back, and schools kept asking us to come to them. Today we teach after-school Mandarin at six elementary school sites, serving more than 200 students in San Francisco public schools alone.

How it works
Small groups placed by Mandarin level, with songs, games and conversation.
Time to recharge with friends before the next activity.
Quiet time to finish schoolwork with staff support.
Arts, crafts and cultural activities that keep kids engaged.
How we place students: by Mandarin proficiency and how they work with peers, then by home language support and interest. We check in with families throughout the year.
What we teach: YCT is our main curriculum, taught in Simplified Chinese. Our Daly City program also uses the Zhongwen series.

For schools & partners
We work with principals, PTAs and after-school providers to run Mandarin on campus, with no extra staffing burden for your school.
Our native-speaking Mandarin teachers are background-checked and trained in positive reinforcement and classroom management, so every class is encouraging, well-run and engaging. Teachers are also trained in child safety and mandated reporting, giving families and schools peace of mind.
Leveled curriculum, placement assessments and progress feedback for families.
We work alongside existing after-school providers such as BACR and Start2Finish, or we can run your entire after-school program, as we do at West Portal Elementary and Tobias Elementary. We also offer flexible models, including a free program at Guadalupe.
Parents and schools welcome. We usually reply within two school days.
